A short but endearing Korean reality show hosted by Netflix, A-List To Playlist (2024), gives Korean drama and music fans a nice chance to see some of their favorite stars up close and personal, including its lead male star Cho Jung Seok (Jealousy Incarnate, Hospital Playlist, Legend Of The Blue Sea, King 2 Hearts, Oh My Ghostess, film Time Renegades) and some of his favorite friends and past co-workers like singer-actress IU, his former lead actress in Jealousy Incarnate Gong Hyo Jin, and others like his former costars in Hospital Playlist, Jung Kyoung Ho, Yoo Yeon Seok, Kim Dae Myung, and Jeon Mi Do.

Also making an appearance is his real-life wife and singer Gummy, as well as popular singers Park Hyo Shin (one of my own top favorite Korean singers!) and Kim Eana. The whole theme of the show is Cho Jung Seok's ambition to create his first singing CD in 100 days. Everyone comes to help him in his goal. Will he succeed? :)

Of course some of the best parts of this reality show are when everyone sings, either solo or in groups. (Some funny moments came up when IU encouraged him to try rap! LOL! I don't even like it when So Jisub sings rap, haha!)

There's a big concert at the end that is very enjoyable to watch as well. Ahjussi Cho is an excellent actor but his own personal ambition is to be a legit solo singer as well. He's good on the guitar and can accompany himself very well. I really hope he succeeds in all his goals: not just to be a superb actor but a superb singer as well!

Also near the end of this reality show we get to see some poignancy as well, since Gong Hyo Jin had agreed to do a commercial for a champagne company, directed by her friend and fellow actor Jung Kyoung Ho (he did great as a newbie director, I thought!). In the commercial Hyo Jin came up with the idea that her character should die at the end. It was done really well, artistically, with very pretty music. I was so glad to see her again, and to see her as herself, not as a character, was the icing on the cake for me in watching this reality show. She even joked what it was like to be married to her new husband, Kevin Oh, a singer with American-Korean heritage. She seems very happy and enthused about the future. Hope to see her in a new drama soon!

So if you'd like to see these fine actors and singers as themselves definitely check out A-List To Playlist on Netflix. There are good visuals and good English subtitles for this show. Enjoy!
