A sweet, darling short Korean drama, all about four people who become fast friends over their love of chocolate, Our Chocolate Moments (2025) can be watched in one day or night on Viki HERE, since it's only two episodes long. If you are finishing up a heavy duty Korean drama, like I did when I started watching it, this series will be like a breath of fresh air, help you relax, smile, and just feel good all over (especially if you watch it while munching on chocolate treats, like I did!). :)

I watched this short drama not just because of its appealing subject matter but because of my genuine affection for our leading lady So Ju Yeon who had totally delighted me in dramas like A Love So Beautiful, Seasons Of Blossoms, and The Midnight Romance In Hagwon. She's a doll and always makes me smile. She's like a delicious piece of chocolate herself! :)

The Story:

A sweet and unassuming young lady office worker, who works for Roywell Food in Seoul, named Joo Seul Ki, starts every morning at her bus stop munching on a dark chocolate candy bar for breakfast. She loves the way it sounds when it snaps into a clean piece after she breaks it, and she especially loves the way it tastes, brightening her mornings. Her boss is always impressed that she's the first one into work (maybe it's all that caffeine that gives her extra energy? LOL). When her fellow office workers come in on time she actually makes them look late for their jobs because she's always so early. Not too many there like her for that reason, and two lady workers routinely gossip about her because she's so devoted to her job. She's a fairly happy person, nevertheless, not letting the gossip get her down. She lives with her single Dad who loves her very much.

One day she realizes she needs to get her broken watch repaired and after work stops into a clock store called Honggeumdang on a small quiet street in Seoul that someone had recommended, and she asks the owner, named Hong (Choi Won Young, Twinkling Watermelon, Mystic Pop Up Bar, Twenty Again) for assistance in fixing it. He looks sad. "I can't fix watches. Only clocks," he replies, and her face looks confused and disappointed.

Then to soften the blow to her he serves her some homemade chocolates on a plate and a small glass of whiskey to wash them down. This immediately cheers Seul Ki up! Of course it makes her a little tipsy as well, so much so that she is late for work the next morning and everyone in the office is shocked. Wow, did she actually get .... DRUNK? Gasp!

Her boss has more faith in her than her fellow coworkers do, and gives her a special project to start up, a Valentine's Day pop up store that will sell new custom made chocolates for the company. He tells her to pick two fellow workers to help her with the task. Ultimately she selects two people who seem promising to her compared to all the gossipers who surround her: a nice but reclusive lady named Kim Hyun Nam (Kong Seong Ha, Doctor Slump, Daily Dose Of Sunshine) and an upbeat, kind male worker named Jeon Soon Tae who everyone nicknames Jeremy (Song Ji Ho, Lovely Runner, Search: WWW).

Jeremy has a strong social media presence too which can help them stir up interest in their project. They all adore chocolate and so all three of them work tirelessly in trying to come up with a new unique chocolate recipe that will wow everyone who tries it, but especially wow the head honcho CEOs at the company who will be their most strict judges.

Hong at the clock store also helps them come up with new recipes. Now all four of them have an emotional investment in the project. We finally learn, too, why Hong can't fix watches. His parents had died on the same day in an accident when he was young and that morning he had stepped on his Mom's watch and broken it. In a flashback scene we see him as a child weeping on the street outside the parents' closed clock shop, and a kind older man bending down to console him. This kind man had given him a chocolate bar to cheer him up. It turns out this kind man is now the top CEO of Roywell Food and it is he who will judge if their new chocolate recipe will past muster to be sold by the company.

What will happen? Will it succeed, or fail? How will all their lives change no matter what the result? You should simply check out this darling short drama and find out for yourself how chocolate can change people's lives. Enjoy!
