A short and sweet web drama about two young people who want to get married but have several obstacles in their path, The Best Ending (2019) starred two leads who had very sweet and romantic chemistry together, actor Jung Gun Joo (The Secret Romantic Guesthouse) and actress Choi Hee Jin (Snowdrop), and then five years after this drama they were re-teamed in a very nice, more mature story, a KBS2 Drama Special from late 2024 called The Road In Between. The Best Ending will probably be enjoyed more by audiences in their twenties and The Road In Between enjoyed more by audiences in their thirties or older.

The Story:

A couple in their mid-twenties have been dating for eight years since high school and took one year off to concentrate on their career goals. Lovely Go Min Chae (Choi Hee Jin) has been abroad for a year as an intern in an art gallery, and handsome Choi Woong (Jung Gun Joo) has concentrated on an academic career as a high school sports teacher after acing swimming competitions for years. When Go Min returns to Korea she is anxious to get together with the love of her life again, Choi Woong, but will he still have the same feelings of love for her as she has for him?

After a few bumps in the road, including some unforseen family troubles, the couple finally commit to each other fully and want to marry but alas! their economic prospects are not grand enough to afford a fancy big wedding that their families and acquaintances and friends all expect from them.

However, as they mature through their troubles they work together better to plan their "Best Ending": A Happy Marriage. Will they succeed or will fate tear them apart yet again?

Each of the eight episodes of The Best Ending are only about 12-16 minutes long each so you can breeze through the drama in one evening if you so choose.

As of this writing you can still enjoy the drama on VIKI at THIS LINK. Have a nice drink of wine and enjoy the sweet romance, with many touches of comedy in the right places.
